Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Accra Tennis League collects and why. It follows Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and a password (stored hashed).
  • Playing details: your level, area, availability, optional profile photo and profile text.
  • Match records: scores, disputes and strikes.
  • Bookings and requests: coaching bookings and court-help requests.
  • Payment records: the amount, status and Paystack reference. We never see your card or mobile money details.
  • Device details: a push-notification token, and crash reports with personal data removed.
  • Location: only if you tap "near me" on the courts screen, and it is used on your phone and not stored by us.

Why we use it

To run the league, place you in a division, show standings, let you contact opponents and coaches, take payments and refunds, send notifications you have agreed to, fix errors and keep the league fair.

Who can see it

  • Players in your division see your name, area and level, and your phone number if you are in the same division.
  • A coach you book is told your name and the session time.
  • League administrators see account and booking data to run the league.

Who we share it with

Paystack (payments), our hosting provider (servers in Frankfurt, Germany (Hostinger)), Expo, Apple and Google (delivering notifications, token only), our error-reporting and email providers, and the storage provider for profile photos. Some of these are outside Ghana, so your data is transferred abroad. We use providers that protect personal data and we share only what each one needs.

How long we keep it

  • Account data until you delete your account.
  • Match results with your name removed after you delete your account.
  • Bookings and court-help requests for 2 years.
  • Payment records for as long as the law requires.
  • Crash reports for 90 days.

Your rights

You can see and correct your profile in the app, delete your account in Settings, ask us for a copy of your data, and ask us to stop using it for a purpose. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

Children

The league is for adults aged 18 and over.
